Hello, The file info.tar contains a collection of info files for reading with GNU emacs. It is compiled for users of the slackware Linux distribution which does not contain other info files than those that come with the emacs package. Since 99% of the material is not linux specific, it can be useful on any other system however. The archive contains only compressed data. That's why it is not compressed itself. All files in the archive have the path-name /usr/info in front of them. Such that if you unpack it in / the files will be located correctly. Caution: ======== If you have the SLS T-series of disks installed, please delete the file info.elc that is located where the auc-tex-stuff is. This is an old version of the info mode that doesn't work with emacs-19. Please let me know, if you know more or newer interesting files to add! Thank you.
